World Suicide Prevention Day, observed annually on September 10th, is a global initiative focused on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting proactive efforts to prevent suicide. Spearheaded by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), this day unites individuals, communities, and organizations to support those affected by suicide. By fostering open conversations, offering education, and encouraging early intervention, it serves as a crucial reminder that suicide is preventable, and everyone has a role in saving lives.
In addition to her work on WHUR, T-Kea was featured in Reckon News’ Black Joy Series, where she shared “6 Ways to Find Joy While Overcoming Suicide Ideation,” providing hope and practical strategies for those navigating their mental health journey.
