We are beyond honored to announce that Black People Die By Suicide Too (BPDBST) received an official proclamation from Mayor Brandon Scott during our Kickback Brunch Fundraiser! This prestigious recognition from the Mayor of Baltimore not only validates the critical work we are doing but also shines a light on the importance of suicide prevention and mental health support in the Black community.
The proclamation is a powerful testament to the urgency of our mission: to create spaces where mental health is prioritized, and the stigma around suicide is dismantled. With the support of Mayor Scott and the city of Baltimore, we are more committed than ever to our goal of reducing the number of Black lives lost to suicide.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Scott and the city of Baltimore City for their unwavering support of our organization. We also want to thank our incredible board members—Brittany Hanani, LGPC, Courtney Anderson, MSW, LCSW; Chikeia Boykin, MSW, LCSW-C, T-Kea Blackman, MPS, CPRS, RPS, and Jordan Scott, MS —who accepted this honor on behalf of the entire BPDBST community.
