In December, the Arundel Bay Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., an organization of mothers dedicated to raising the next generation of African American leaders while enhancing the lives of all children, celebrated 35 years of service with its Sneaker Ball. The chapter announced Black People Die By Suicide Too as one of the organizations selected to support through its philanthropic efforts.
Our Executive Director, T-Kea Blackman, attended the event wearing two crowns — quite literally. She was present not only as the leader of our organization, but also as the reigning Ms. Full-Figured National Capital Region Queen, representing her platform, From Pain to Purpose: Saving Black Youth from Suicide.
That support came full circle in May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, when the Arundel Bay Area Chapter made a generous donation to Black People Die By Suicide Too. This contribution will directly support our scholarship program for the Black Mental Health Awards (BMHA), a celebration honoring trailblazers in Black mental health.
To the Arundel Bay Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our work. This donation is more than funding — it is fuel for the next generation of mental health leaders and advocates.
We are proud to welcome the Arundel Bay Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. as an official sponsor of the Black Mental Health Awards.
