There are many myths and misperceptions about suicide within the Black community. It is often thought that suicide only happens to white people. The Black People Die By Suicide Too: It’s Not a White Thing webinar challenges these myths and provides education on the increase of suicide within the Black community, how to identify signs that someone may be considering suicide, the importance of language when addressing suicidality, and much more. T-Kea and Jordan also share their stories of recovery and discuss the role of peer support as a tool to combat behavioral health challenges, especially suicide.
